It's hard to tell from these, but the room is hunter green and off white. Yeah, that is a cat on the counter--Miss Sammie Grace. I never thought I'd let an animal on any counter, but that spot seems to be her "safe haven" where she can nap without having to keep one eye open. So I let her stay there, but she can't travel the rest of the counter top. The picture above the desk is last year's birthday present from the boyfriend: a framed print from one of my favorite country artists--Dave Barnhouse. It depicts a winter farmhouse scene, complete with snow/barns/tractors. That is the best and most thoughtful gift I've ever received. He went out his way to remember and get this gift, having it specially framed and everything.

Photo(s) of the Day 6/29/06
Fixing things up was fun, but a lot of time-consuming and hard work. I pulled up the carpeting and painted the floor instead of opting for more carpeting. For one, I don't own it so it would be too much expense, and second, I have 3 cats who are on occasion prone to hairballs. With carpet (imho) once something like that happens, it's never clean again. Anyway about the room. Talk about a blank slate! White walls all around! And I don't know who ever thought to hang miniblinds outside the window sills (the windows are almost 8" recessed from the wall, tho it is hard to tell from the pictures). Hanging the blinds inside the window well made such a difference. The carpet was a leftover remnant from carpeting the last place. The couches are covered with sheets until I can 1. get the cats brushed enough to shed less and 2. clean the couches. Theu were uncovered for a period of time, and there's some cat hair on them (ew!).

Photo of the Day 6/27/06
Today's photo:
This was the state of my desk approximately 10 minutes ago. Yes, that is coffee. On some important paperwork and drenching my keyboard. Though there was a lid on the coffee cup (I spill so often I had to get a lidded mug!), I whacked it so hard that it spilled anyway. Still in good humor, I grabbed that trusty camera and snapped away.
But that's not the end of the story...
So I move the coffee cup further to the left to start cleaning up. In process, I knocked the damned thing over AGAIN spilling the remainder of my full cup on the other section of my desk. With no papers to absorb the mess, it spread under my big-honkin-auto-stapler, my adding machine, and onto the floor (and all over every computer wire) via the 1/2" gap between desk sections. No camera for the second spill, as my face had to be beet red. I was super pissed.
At this point I guess I can reveal how my day started.
Alarm ringing. Woke refreshed and on time. Had plenty of time to get ready. Yet I found myself with my tiny tank top when I noticed I forgot my bra (and I need one). A few minutes later, I caught myself putting on a sandal before my pants. I thought, what in the hell is wrong with my brain this morning? Then, whilst driving to work, I realized I forgot deodorant.
Good gravy, I hope the evening goes better--I have 2 classes to teach and workout to get through!

Hobbies?! What are those? Lesiure time?! What is that?
If you asked me on three different days what my favorite color is or what kind of food I like the most, I'd most likely give you a different answer each day.
A little over a year ago, I packed up my things and left my "former life" behind in a divorce. Since then, it seems I have no identity at all. It's a rather odd limbo of sorts. So at the moment I'm sort of meandering along, waiting for my feet to hit the ground and get settled back into a "normal" life. :)
So for the time being, color me "undefined".
